In her keynote address, Katalin Kürtösi examines the depiction of the 1944-45 siege of Budapest through the work of renowned Hungarian writer Sándor Márai  and award winning Canadian writer Tamás Dobozy; anchoring conference sessions in various disciplines on the still contentious interpretation of WWII and the Holocaust in Hungary and Europe.
