Vergil, 1501: The birth of italics & Reading ‘Aristotle’s’ book
Randall McLeod, Prof. Emeritus, English Department at the University of Toronto, practices analytical bibliography and unediting. He is now looking at the work of Aldo Manuzio, printer of many first Greek editions and the first to print in italics. Both talks reveal complex schedules of production, which shape and even alter text.
This event takes place in English.
