What makes community food and farming—in Ottawa—sustainable?
Chaired by Dr. Patricia Ballamingie (Associate Professor, Carleton University and Chair, Just Food) this CASC-CAFS joint session will bring together a group of Ottawa area food and farming practitioners to reflect on topics that tie their work to community. This opens an important conversation about the role of ‘public(s)’ and ‘community’ in building sustainable food and farming systems in the national capital region, by providing space for a diverse set of perspectives. Featured organizations include Just Food, Riverglen Biodynamic Farm, the Ottawa Food Bank Community Harvest, West End Well and the Laurier Centre for Sustainable Food Systems.
